Gaile Gray is My Hero
This is the first online game I played that has a staff that dosent just care about making money. Just the fact that WE SEE HER replying to post, and being.....well................helpfull.
To be honest I never expected to see her again after release, I was proven wrong. This game has started something that cant be ignored, and I belive that other Co's will ether have to shape up, or ship out. I do belive I am becoming the perverbial "fanboy", but I dont care. Anet has my and many other peoples support (simply because they give a damn about the game they made), and I will support them to the end.
Thank you Gaile Gray and Anet for giving me a great game, and backing it with great support.

I couldn't agree more. I was drawn to this game at first because of the no monthly fee aspect, but once I started researching it I found out that Guild Wars had so many features that I had wished other online games that I had played had. Not that those other games aren't great in their own ways, but for the type of person I am, Guild Wars is definitely my game of choice. But then I joined these forums and saw that ArenaNet and Gaile Gray in particular really listen to the players, and I was seriously impressed. And once the game was released and I see updates being made that were the result of requests of the players themselves, I continue to be impressed. The fact that Gaile talks to the players and that if something really needs to be addressed it will be, makes Guild Wars feel not just like a game and more of a community. Kudos to Gaile Gray and ArenaNet. And excuse my fangirlishness about the whole situation.

No monthly fee drew me in and shut all others out. As I played the Betas it was easy to find so many 'mature' friends. Not only that but, as said, the staff at Anet have been nothing but golden! Great support and its always fun to see them in-game at times. Usually fun to drop a little note their way (Gaile's especially) and enjoy talking about absolutely nothing or getting serious talk going about some aspect of the game! YOU GUYS ROCK! I'm here for LIFE (Rushing Wind's life too since he is my wonderful proxy to the magnificent world of Tyria)!

Yep, the no monthly fee made me look at it, then I simply got hooked, and now I wish to pledge my undying love for Guild Wars!

I think they did themselves in as soon as they allowed *real world* money to enter as part of the gaming experience! There is where you get your Super Duper Uber stuff and leave everyone else hanging and wishing they had money streaming outta their head to pay for stuff like that. Then its people like that that probably can't think of anything else better to do with their money! Where's the toilet? Its time to send that one to *flush*!

Well, it would be nice, eventually, to see her at other forums some time other than this one. But there I am, being unreasonable and stuff.

Well, this is the site currently considered the 'premier fansite.' -shrug- Makes sense to spend a bit more time here then elsewhere, I suppose.
But yes, Gaile is my hero. I am quite impressed by the fact that she replies with a sense of humour as well. That's pretty rare for most CSRs.

No, you're not being unreasonable, just apparently uninformed. I see her on other fora all the time.

"Fora" is the plural of "forum". "Forums" is the bastardized form for English-speakers who don't know the proper plural form for Latin terms. I also write "hydrae" where someone people write "hydras". Call me old-fashioned, call me pretentious, I don't care, I refuse to use the vulgar forms, particularly when the original forms are not only more proper but also flow better and are more pleasing to the ear.
It also bugs me when people have to resort to overly wordy and cumbersome phrases because they've never learned the proper ways to transform terms, e.g. when I see "piece of data" when the perfectly fine singular "datum" would do. (That case is even more bizarre since it's backwards from the usual case; people know the proper plural without knowing the proper singular!)
I also scream in pain around Christmas when I hear people pronounce "magi" as "may jeye" or "mage eye", but I digress...

Dreamsmith: You are old-fashioned and pretentious. (You asked for that. )
That said, it's nice to see that people are still capable of using the language the way it was meant to be used. You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!

It is horrendous to see people twist and warp the English language. It's good to see that some people of intelligence still exist

I agree Dreamsmith and yet I find myself using phrases like "pieces of data" because if I use datum the general public doesn't know what it means. I have become much more aware of this because I am an anglophone (English Speaker) working in a francophone (French speaker, oh OK Acadian french to be specific) area. I cannot use more obscure english terms and phrases, I have to stick to common usage. It's also a good idea to remember that there are quite a few non-english speakers that visit these forums (excuse me fora). I try to make the language in my posts clear and accessable to all. I want to maintain the good reputation of this site.
